Naww dude the reason Bloodbath was formed was because all theses guys like old death metal. All their albums are superb and Opeth has many fairly simple songs too you know.

just compare the complexity of opeth to the simpleness of bloodbath... Why would a guy like akerfeldt join a band where the average song has 3/4 power chords as the main riff ? This is a parody of some death metal bands. I like bloodbath anyway, they have catchy songs :)

This is good stuff. I don't lose interest in it. It might be relatively simple, but it's compositionally excellent and not bland, and as such, holds the attention, unlike some other bands who are either exceptionally bland, or whose technical wankery fucks up any chance of the music going anywhereIt's not a joke though, as somebody else has said. Bloodbath might be a fun project, sure, but it's about creating a tribute to old-school death metal, rather than a tongue-in-cheek parody of a style.

yeah death metal doesn't ALL have to be incredibly technical and complicated to be good. Sure, if you play guitar and listen it from that perspective you'll more than likely appreciate bands with more complicated riffs and lead, but sometime ya just need something low, heavy, and with a good groove to headbang to. I fucking love Bloodbath. I think Opeth should do a tour with them, just so Mikael can do two back-to-back sets, that'd be some bragging rights there.
