because slaughter of soul is an influence for metalcore music doesn't mean it sucks. Metalcore as a genre is a very bad version of this album.

I have to disagree, Slaughter of the soul is repetive, not outstanding. It has no bizzare riffs such as The red in the sky is ours~ or anything special. The riffs are melodic, but boring typical melodic death metal. Slaughter of the soul is also an big influence for metalcore.

Haha, Deathcore was founded in the US but in terms of popularity they are like the madonna of "metal". Deathcore is pretty much the labels cashing in. The labels take advantage of these kids that think they are the toughest fuckers ever because they listen to suicide silence. ALL Deathcore bands steal riffs from real extreme metal bands and commercialize what they think is death metal. It's not the music that pisses me off it's the fans who have NEVER heard a maiden song in their life.

I guess you're right, by best I meant most popular. It's a shame that metalcore exists today though. Although I DO listen to an odd song here and there most metalcore fans don't know shit about metal. Just today I asked one at my school (who claimed to like grindcore) if he knew of Carcass or Napalm Death... he immediately said no. I get made fun of by so many metalcore dicks for liking Nile and Behemoth and shitloads of black metal yet they dont even know where metalcore came from.

I thought that Deathcore was founded in the US. Too bad for you :S there's still tons of teenagers everywhere around with the deathcore stuff and such. Mainly mainstream metal.

That's because you (calastiur) live in the Netherlands, no offence. I'm English but I moved to the US. Over here the problem is that you get like one in 20 kids wearing suicide silence or Bring me the Horizon t shirts and they don't know who carcass are. that's why the core scene is so awful, they don't know their roots. Over here I am the only person in my school who knows who Carcass are yet there are about 200 kids who think they are "metal".PS- Im 15 too so hey, what do I know.
