Yeah, that all seems pretty fair Lafforte. The original post was one of a myriad I made one evening when I was particularly drunk. I tend to be more susceptible to finding meaning where there is (perhaps) none while I am under the influence. I don't think it's a crime though, ignorance being bliss and all. Regardless of what I wrote above, it's true that once he got going, he was such a prolific writer he didn't need to cover other people's material. His first album, though, "Bob Dylan", was all covers except "Song to Woody", and one talking blues...Woody-style. The others were all trad. blues and folk (pretty much his live repertoire in the Village at the time). But the amazing "61 Revisited", and "Blond on Blond" were obviously all Dylan.
