How is gay marriage discriminatory of "traditional marriage"? Marriage has actually existed much longer than religion, so Adam and Eve certainly set no precedent there. I like how you interpret the Constitution based on your telepathic link with its authors. Would you mind asking them whether religious belief should dictate civil laws? jenmarfer, I make no attempt to "justify" homosexuality, because I don't need to. I'm not arguing against your belief that homosexuality is wrong; you are welcome to believe that as much as you want. I'm arguing that that belief, as well as any other aspect of religion, has no place in civil law. Do you really think gays want to get married because they think that it will win your approval? Also, just to clarify, the current law will only be altered if Proposition 8 PASSES.
